My name is Doug, and I’m a car guy. More specifically, I am an ASE Certified mechanic with over 15 years experience working on a variety of cars and trucks. I’ve pretty much wrenched on them all at this point. Some more than others, hence the reason for starting iffycars.com.
The purpose of this website
Most of the time, just by looking at the make and model of the car, I’ll know exactly what the problem before the customer even says anything. I can basically spot an “iffy” car a mile away.
I started iffycars.com as a way to document some of the most common problems I encounter in my day-to-day work. My ideal reader is someone who is shopping for a used car – but has concerns about potential problems and repairs about the particular model that they are looking at.
I’m not the best writer in the world. I have no intentions of making this website the best ever for automotive maintenance and repair documentation.
I simply want to share my personal experiences. My hope is that these experiences will be beneficial to others.
That’s all.
